Its done!!!! - we leave sunny Melbourne at 9am on Monday 5th September 2016 and leave all of our trouble behind.
Im finally going to get myself some Mickey Mouse ears or a Minnie Mouse stuffed toy that I was so envious that my friend Nicki Pearson had and I was always in awe.
60 something sleeps to go. :)
Hi Kym, I am a NHW friend of your parents here in Qld, Leo & Vonnie. I too am undergoing a Breast Cancer Journey, having being diagnosed in April and undergoing a Mastectomy late April. My Breast reconstruction is scheduled for 1st August. THANK GOODNESS my "C" was found early and Chemo & Radiotheraphy was NOT required so I got to keep my waist-length hair. Support has been a bit thin on the ground for me, but I will read your blog to follow your journey. Wishing you a LONG & HEALTHY life, Love & Best wishes, Carol Clare, Morayfield, Qld. iancaz@iprimus.com.au
ReplyDeleteHi Carol, thanks for visiting and welcome, I'm sorry that you also have been diagnosed.. I hope you find something in my blog that lightens your mind. Everyone's experience is a little different of course. I try and keep the blog informative and light. It's a shame there isn't much support your way. I use the BCNA website and forums, we have Boob Club and Reclaim Your Curves (reconstruction group). There must be something up that way. You could ask your breastcare nurse or the Cancer Council. I've been treated to days at the hot springs, art therapy, oncology massage - you just have to plug in to the groups but do take advantage of what's available to you. I wish you health and happiness, hugs kym
DeleteIf you have any questions about reconstruction there is a Facebook group of wonderfully supportive women and what to take to hospital lists etc. it's called Reclaim Your Curves.
